Monday, March 21, 2011 at 08:48AM I played my first tournament of the year and it ended in a DQ.
The first round I made 16 pars. Sounds like it might have been a good round and it would have been if the other two holes were birdies. Instead they were a double and a quintuple. Someone asked me how I made a 9 on a par 4 and my answer is I missed a 10 footer for 8.
The next day, I had a good round going. On my second last hole I hit a ball near the OB stakes and then hit a provisional. One of the guys I was playing with found my first ball in play and I was able to make birdie on the hole.
The last hole was a par 3 and I hit a good shot to about 15 feet. When I got up on the green, I marked my ball and noticed that it was a Titleist 6 and not the 8 I was playing. I must have hit the wrong ball on the hole before and since I Had already teed off on the next hole, I had to DQ myself.
Not the way I wanted to kick off my 2011 golf season.
